Implemented a dynamic program of expansion and transformation, elevating the Royal Palm Plaza Hotel to a five star classification and to the top of its category as an internationally known convention and business traveler property. Produced a higher return on the original investment than any other hotel in the country and sold the property for an amount five times the original cost per room.

October 1972 - December 1977As a "sweat equity", junior partner, opened the first Holiday Inn offices in Brazil and was responsible for all aspects of the implementation and operation of the first projects- Directed the efforts of seven hundred employees in five companies-Hired the initial staff, prepared market and project feasibility studies and cash flow analyses, selected and purchased the hotel sites, selected the architects and contractors, negotiated the long term financing, developed plans, built the properties and placed the hotels in operation-Structured and opened the first Holiday Inns management company in Brazil from which subsequent Holiday Inn franchisees drew their staff members.
